Cedarville Hospital is preparing to roll out a Monthly Free Health Screening Program designed to bring preventive healthcare closer to residents of Hohoe and surrounding rural communities.
The planned initiative will offer free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, malaria, BMI checks, and general wellness counseling, particularly targeting people who may not regularly visit the hospital. Screenings are expected to be held in schools, churches, markets, and community centers on the last Saturday of every month.
“We want to meet the people where they are,” says Dr. Sena Agbeko, projected head of the program. “This outreach will allow early detection and promote healthier lifestyles before conditions become severe.”
The program, to be supported by the Cedarville Foundation, aims to reach over 2,000 residents in its first year once it officially launches.
